Sharing the Gospel

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news that man has been reconciled in all of his broken relationships, not only spiritually but also psychologically, socially and environmentally. When we begin to understand that Christ’s work of redemption is to restore the whole of man, the implications of the gospel become vast. We believe that by meeting the needs of our community we are winning the privilege of evangelism. Therefore we desire to find out what the needs of the orphans are and we are determined to find ways of meeting those needs, with primary emphasis in child education.

Farming:

Self Sustaining

In 2019, Rishama put a down payment on 17 acres of land. The goal is to be able to use it to grow food for the orphanage and school and also to teach the children farming skills that they can use when they graduate. We also hope to sell any extra food we produce.

In 2023 we purchased 5 acres of Palm Oil trees. Palm oil can be used for cooking and skin care. They also purchased a couple acres near there for rice which is served at every meal.
In 2024 we purchased 62 acres about 30 minutes north. They plant corn, yams, potatoes and cassava which is their main staples.

Testimonials from Donors

The Hummel Family’s Sponsorship Experience:

We are humbled and overjoyed to be a small part of Rishama International by sponsoring Confidence, a beautiful 13-year old child at the orphanage. We feel so blessed to be able to exchange letters with Confidence and hear about the loving and enriching environment at Rishama. Our daughter especially enjoys corresponding with Confidence, since they are not far apart in age and share some of the same interests, even though they may be worlds apart. There is no better reward than to see the smiling faces on the Rishama website and learn of the impact our small contribution has on the medical care, education, and hope that comes to the children from knowing Christ and living in this safe and loving sanctuary

Peter Abel

I was 9 years old when I came to Rev. Thomas Maijamaa. I was born and raised in a small village where there was good drinking water, but I had no hope of education because I and my siblings only worked in the farm. But glory be to God, Rishama raised me up to know Jesus and trained me to acquire education. Rishama sent me to Igbaja Kwara State where I completed my high school last year and I am now a first year student at Federal University of Technology Minna Niger State Nigeria. This is amazing. Praise God. I wish my father were alive to be proud of me because at present I am the only child in my entire village to go to university. I am now 23 years old.
